DJ VADIM “U CAN’T LURN IMAGINASHUN” ALBUM REVIEW

U Can't Lurn ImaginashunFuck yeah. That's what I have to say before anything else, because that was the first reaction my ears had when listening to this album. Not literally, like some David Cronenberg shit, but there was definitely some aural joy in effect and it definitely came courtesy of the Russian Percussion. If you caught the single review I posted a month or two ago, or if you've been lurking on MySpace, or even better, if you actually bought the single when it came out, then you'll already be familiar with three of the tracks from the album - "Hidden Treasure", "Soldier" and "Saturday". They are joined by another 15 songs to make up this welcome return to music, by one of the UK's favourite beatmakers.

DJ VADIM ALBUM LAUNCH & COMPETITION!!

vadiiimYes that's right, the T-E-R-R-O-R-IST is back with a brand new live album! 'U Can’t Lurn Imaginashun' is out on BBE in May, with the first single 'Hidden Treasure' featuring Sabirajade out mid-April, and we will be celebrating the launch with a very special, fully-live performance at Whitechapel's Rhythm Factory. DJ Vadim, a man who this year conquered cancer has dug deep, learned new skills and used his imagination to produce his best work yet. From deep in his basement studio he has distilled a fine selection of beats, utilising the skills we all know and love as well as exploring new musical territories, as 'Hidden Treasure' shows. A hold on to your seat, white-knuckle rollercoaster of a track that combines the rawness of Ska, jump-up party vibes, and spine tingling vocals, set against reggae-tinged, massive track 'Soldier' serves as solid proof that The Isolationist's prolificacy is nowhere near diminishing, nor is his talent or exploratory demeanour. With his full band featuring some very special guests playing this evening, expect an introduction to the peak of a hard-working, much deserving DJ/producer's career.
