THE STONES THROW XMAS AT PLAN B

Guilty and MED Next month sees the arrival in the UK of two of Stones Throw's most heavyweight emcees: Guilty Simpson and MED. They will be hitting London town, bringing the Stones Throw Xmas cheer with them and giving us all an early gift for the festive season, thanks to those folks at Doctor's Orders. We've heard quite a bit from Guilty over the past year or so, but not so much from MED, so be good to get him over here again. Also he will be doing some of the new tracks from his highly anticipated sophomore album, set to drop next year.

MADLIB ANNOUNCES “THE MEDICINE SHOW” + FREE DOWNLOAD

Madliberator Madlib, his many incarnations and his 4 ton record collection always come with the goods. Too numerous to mention, but you all know the score by now anyway. Well now the Madliberator is in the lab creating a 12 part CD series under the title of "The Medicine Show". Set to be released over the course of 12 months, it will be a collection of his new hip hop production, remixes and beat tapes. Plus soul, funk, Brazilian, psych, jazz and 'other undefined forms of music'.

    EDAN “ECHO PARTY” RELEASE

EdanI'll admit that when I first got this through the post, I was hyped. Edan is one of my favourites, but boy does it take him a long time to make his albums: "Primitive Plus" in 2002, then "Beauty and the Beat" in 2005 and that's it. Nothing since then, not even a hint. Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw Stones Throw bigging up a new Edan release called "Echo Party". Unfortunately it is not an album as such, more of a special mixtape with some added extras. The music comes from the extensive back catalogue of the Traffic Entertainment Group and it's taken two years for Edan to perfect the mix.

WIN TICKETS FOR PEANUT BUTTER WOLF LIVE AT VIDEOCRASH!

PNB IS ALIVEPeanut Butter Wolf is a legend. The man started buying records in 1979, mixing and scratching in 1984, was making beats by 1986, making full-on records by 1990 and then formed his own label, Stones Throw Records, in 1996. And we all know how amazingly that turned out. Stones Throw is probably one of the most prolific labels in the world right now, banging out new material quicker than a Primark sweatshop and covering a massive musical spectrum - if you've seen their latest roster, you'll know what I'm talking about. And all this is built on the back of Peanut Butter Wolf and his love of vinyl. Well now Mr Wolf is going to be here in London, for one very special night only, at the Jazz Cafe for the ever-popular Videocrash. The date in question is 22 October and is obviously one not to be missed. Seriously, everyone needs to see this. The audio-visual spectacular, combined with PBW's mighty music collection AND some yet to be confirmed special guests, will prove to be the maker of many immense memories.
