If you caught the piece we threw up a week or so ago, then you already know about the soon-to-drop Freeway and Jake One album, "The Stimulus Package".
The album is set to drop mid-February on Rhymesayers and will feature, among others, Raekwon and Jay-Z favourite, Beanie Siegel, alongside Freeway's relentless rhyming and the beats that have made Jake One, some of RSE's hottest property.
Oh wait, what's that you're saying? Yesterday's Felt 3 freebie not enough for you? Need something else to fill the void? I bet you do. Well we're never one to shy away from the demand for all things hip hop and so now we have another track from Felt 3 to giveaway at everybody's favourite price.
Felt 3 is out next week, people, and to celebrate the Rosie Perez Tribute, 2DopeBoyz have gone and scored a free download of one of the tracks from the album.
At last! I know we're not the only ones who have been clamouring for the UK to be blessed with a visit from one (or all) of the Doomtree crew, and now it seems as though our cries have not been in vain. Last week P.O.S announced he would be embarking on a European tour this Autumn and the UK will be getting him for no less than nine dates.
If you're anything like me, you would have been disappointed to hear about Eyedea's decision to retire from hip hop back in 2006/2007. I remember reading loads of comments on their E&A Myspace page, basically slagging him off for hanging up the mic & concentrating on his other project, Carbon Carousel.
I thought that was a pretty fucking childish reaction considering Eyedea had been rhyming for a long time by that point and he had been involved in three immense albums, as well as winning enough major battles to last anyone else a life time, and all this by the time he was 21 or some shit. If I was him, I'd probably choose that time to focus on something else as well. But he is in my top five emcees and so it was still a shame to see him go.
I've just heard on the Myspace grapevine that Rhymesayers are set to release a whole bunch of new albums under the collective title, "The Spotlight Series".
The albums will showcase the music of up-and-coming independent artists and will help them to expand their fans bases by making their music available to a global audience. Not only that, but the LPs will be cheaper than the average RSE release to entice more potential followers.
