It’s all been a bit quiet round these parts over the past few weeks, what with us relocating and not having any internet access. Plus all that festive cheer being rammed down our throats, kinda drained all the creativity out of us.

Luckily free internet access is everywhere these days and so I’ve finally managed to drag myself away from the festering mass of turkey, chocolate coins and neverending Tim Allen movies, to see what we’ve missed out on since we were last on it. And where better to start than the UK compilation we dropped a fortnight ago, thanks to our American friends at aboveGround Magazine.

If you hadn’t already heard, in the run up to Christmas the guys over at aboveGround put out a selection of free downloads, under the collective title, “The 12 Days of Hipmas“. There were some proper treats in there, including some remixes from Teddy Faley and a real nice 90’s compilation. But of course our highlight was a compilation of UK hip hop, lovingly crafted by our good selves. Titled “It Came From Across the Pond“, the comp featured some tunes that you will know well, some tunes you will know maybe not quite so well and maybe even a couple of new listens as well.

I won’t bore you with anymore talk, but it goes without saying that this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the people who I’ve tagged below, who let me use various bits & pieces. A big thanks to all of you.
