MICALL PARKNSUN “ALL 4 HIP HOP” REVIEW

All 4 Hip HopOoooh, more YNR ish is it? More dopeness from the camp who have already brought us Jyager and "Feeding Time at the Zoo", this year alone, and hold down a residency at Jazz Cafe? Damn straight it is. This time it's the turn of everyone's favourite working class dad, Micall Parknsun, who brings with him his new single, "All 4 Hip Hop" (and some fresh Nikes). This will be the debut single from his sophomore album, "First Second Time Around", which is due to drop 'shortly' according to the PR blurb. The single features two tunes, the title track and another one called, "Still Here". There are also a couple of remixes thrown in as standard, but unlike some of the pointless rehashes you get these days, these ones actually give a whole different slant to the originals.

KYZA “SHOTS OF SMIRNOFF” ALBUM REVIEW

Shots of Smirnoff"There's a sweepstake, pon my EP release date" - Kyza knew we were all waiting for him to release something solid, even back then when he dropped that verse on the Itch FM mixtape, one of many sick verses that gained him a lot of respect from heads, both in the crowds at his shows and amongst his fellow hip hop cronies. He did release an album a couple of years back, "The Experience", but I didn't think it was all it could've been, given the amount of skills Mr Sayso has on the mic, but now he is back with the much anticipated LP, "Shots of Smirnoff".

DJ VADIM “U CAN’T LURN IMAGINASHUN” ALBUM REVIEW

U Can't Lurn ImaginashunFuck yeah. That's what I have to say before anything else, because that was the first reaction my ears had when listening to this album. Not literally, like some David Cronenberg shit, but there was definitely some aural joy in effect and it definitely came courtesy of the Russian Percussion. If you caught the single review I posted a month or two ago, or if you've been lurking on MySpace, or even better, if you actually bought the single when it came out, then you'll already be familiar with three of the tracks from the album - "Hidden Treasure", "Soldier" and "Saturday". They are joined by another 15 songs to make up this welcome return to music, by one of the UK's favourite beatmakers.

COP THE NEW CAGE EP FOR FREE

I Never Knew You"Gee, thanks MTV!" It's been a while since I said that. If I ever did say it. Regardless, my point is that MTV went wack where once they were maybe okay. Well at some points at least (see Yo! MTV Raps). Now though, they've finally realised that there is actually music out there that has become popular without their help and so naturally they want a piece. Hence things like Cage's new EP being given away for free on their uber-cool Subterranean blog (See, it's like another way to say 'Underground'. They're so cutting edge).
