I was scanning through the ultra-boring and mind numbing bulletins on Myspace last week, and in amongst all the shout outs for badly spelt blogs and unfunny Youtube clips, there was a little announcement from everyone’s favourite producer Blockhead. Apparently he has put the finishing touches to his new album and it will (hopefully) be released in the summer.

It’s called “The Music Scene” and it sees Blockhead returning to his darker roots, after the release of his last LP, “Uncle Tony’s Colouring Book” in 2007. That LP was definitely a lighter affair than his previous lot and I think some fans felt a bit robbed by the lack of doom and gloom. No worries now though, ”The Music Scene” is set to be a rainbow and unicorn free zone.

It’s being released on Ninja Tunes and will feature 12 tracks to savour and salivate over. There’ll be teasers and tasters put on his Myspace nearer the time, he just needs to get it mixed and mastered first. So yeah, a bit of an early heads up but we like to keep you lot in the know.. watch this space!
