NOFX UK TOUR & DVD RELEASE!

backstagepassportThe NOFX dudes and their crew did a giant world tour in 2006, and they brought a camera man. They played shows way out in the sticks, places where you couldn’t buy a NOFX record if your life depended on it. The resulting video footage was exciting, chaotic, and hilarious—sorta like Spinal Tap meets the Decline of Western Civilization meets Pineapple Express…but it’s all real!! Add some subtitles, a few musical montages, and voila! An 8-part docu-series was born! 'NOFX: Backstage Passport' first aired in April 2008 on Fuse TV, and back by popular demand, it will now be released in its entirety right here on Fat Wreck Chords. On March 17th NOFX: Backstage Passport will be available on DVD! This 2-disc set will include all 8 original episodes, plus OVER 2 HOURS of uncensored, never-before-seen bonus footage!

    JACK FLASH ‘FOUR MINUTE WARNING’

jackflashHuddersfield’s answer to Kool G Rap is back, with the second banging single to be taken from the critically acclaimed 'Union Jack' album. One of 2008's most popular releases, Jack Flash's debut long player received coverage and applause from publications as varied as Q, Fast Car, HHC, The Metro and Word. Not satisfied with his successes in world of recorded material, Jack Flash battled his way to being crowned END OF THE WEAK UK CHAMPION in 2008, defeating a host of other talented emcees. Flash will now defend his title against the world's best rappers in the global final being held on the 27th of February in London town (click here for more info!). 'Four Minute Warning' is an ode to straight spitting, hip-hop purity with top class lyricism over a chopped up soul instrumental. Massive drums provided by Apa-Tight, tighten the song to perfection, with Flash exhibiting an energy and cadence only matched by his own live show.

B-REAL (CYPRESS HILL) ‘SMOKE N MIRRORS’ ALBUM RELEASE

b2-1 Snoop Dogg may have coined the phrase, "Went solo on that ass but it's still the same," but fellow Californian rapper B-Real has perfected it. After nearly two decades as part of the groundbreaking trio Cypress Hill (the first Latino hip-hop group to go platinum), B-Real has broken out on his own but still maintains his allegiance to rhyme partners Sen Dog and DJ Muggs. "I've been wanting to do a solo project for a while now, but had always dedicated my creative time to Cypress," confirms B-Real, who was honored alongside his fellow bandmates during VH1's Hip-Hop Honors 2008. "Since we weren't in a rush to record a new Cypress record, I took the time to explore my own thing as an artist, producer and label owner." B-Real is ready for the next chapter in his storied career. In 2008, the West Coast O.G. signed a deal with East Coast-based Duck Down Records to distribute his production company/label, Audio Hustlaz. With the indie powerhouse's backing, B-Real is ready to present his long overdue solo debut 'Smoke N Mirrors', which promises to offer faithful listeners the same caliber of material they've come to expect from Cypress Hill, but with a sound and style all his own. "The music will be different in the production, content, flow and delivery," says B-Real. "I don't want to piggyback off of the Cypress sound, I want it to be different."

He has released three solo albums; performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan with artists like the late James Brown, De La Soul and others; been named one of the “Next 100” by URB magazine; and collaborated with rap heavyweights such as 9th Wonder and Pigeon John. All of these accomplishments set the stage for Braille’s fourth album The IV Edition released on Syntax Records/KOCH Entertainment.

    CARGO’S 8TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!

cargobdayCargo is 8 years old, and to celebrate they have invited two of their favourite bands, The Golden Silvers and 33Hz to show their stuff. To top it up Big Lego Man himself: Ego Leonard, will be visiting us from Holland to paint LIVE in the yard. We are excited, and you should be too. You may remember the following story that broke out back in August: AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - A giant, smiling Lego man was fished out of the sea in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort on Tuesday. Workers at a drinks stall rescued the 2.5-metre (8-foot) tall model with a yellow head and blue torso. "We saw something bobbing about in the sea and we decided to take it out of the water," said a stall worker. "It was a life-sized Lego toy." Thankfully Lego Man recovered fully from his maritime ordeal and will be present in all his 8-foot glory at Cargo's 8th Birthday Party on Febuary 11th.

Sin CityKung Fu is a name that has become synonymous with UK hip hop over the years, thanks to their unsurpassed club nights and their seemingly unbreakable dedication to bridging the gap between two generations of homegrown heads. Well, this year they're starting things off with a bang in the form of a 29 track, behemoth of a mix-CD, "Sin City", which includes some of this country's most respected emcees, as well as some fresher faces for the '09.
