British Photographer Gavin Watson has taken an array of diverse images in his career which has spanned over 30 years. Particularly well-known for the book ‘Skins’ released a few years ago now, these images, amongst many others have become strikingly significant and historically valuable. More recently working for magazines such as ArtRocker & Vice, and photographing bands such as Gallows, we of course jumped at the chance for a brief Q&A with the man himself..

In the list of places I check out on a regular basis, the Aversion site is definitely up there. Despite having a pretty punishing uni schedule, and being sponsored to ride for Deluxe, Louis still finds the time to update it regularly, and now to also put up their new designs too. Pricing in at £15, the new Dots T-shirt looks rad as hell, and like the rest of the Aversion t's should fit like a glove too. Plus - they're all hand screen-printed, meaning each T-shirt is unique (Different fades + colours!). All in all, another quality product from a quality UK company. Represent!

Recently I made 10 anti America posters. This was before Obama won the elections, am a bit late with posting them on S43. Here's a link to all 10. It was a situationist international project, which practicly comes down to making a strong political poster series in a very short time with almost no money. These were done in 2 hours and printed for free by nicking a tutor's account login. Hope you like it. They will be hanging in Club Canvas (Amsterdam), 2 will be published in the Mexican Chakota Mag. and my for the rest I promote them online.

The magical Yellow Brick Road has found an artist again, after Elton John and Eminem the bricks have been walked by Sabrina Starke. Comming from Rotterdam it is not easy to get signed by the world's biggest Jazz label BlueNote.

Bristol Academy, 14.11.08.So the scene was set for one of the biggest hip hop events in my calendar this year. Not only was it the chance to see the GZA/Genius, one of my favourite emcees from back in the day, but he was also going to be doing a Liquid Swords retrospective, which is one of, if not the best, solo Wu-Tang efforts. I first heard about this gig back in July, so that’s four months I’ve had to get myself hyped up and ready for the onslaught of a founding Wu member hitting my hometown. Having said that, I wasn’t in too much of a hurry to catch the start of the show and the support acts because I’ve seen Skinnyman more times than I can remember and there hasn’t been too much deviation from show to show (As it turns out, I wish I had got down a bit earlier as apparently the other support acts were dope, according to our guys who caught the London show) We bowled up to the venue at about 9pm and caught the last few bars of “I’ll Be Surprised”. The crowd seemed to be lapping it up but then Skinny has always been a people’s favourite and they also knew what was going to follow.
