BLOODCLOT
I have not posted a story or anecdote on S43 in so many months I don’t even know what has happened with my time. I would like to apologize for the unanswered fan mail, to regular readers who doubtless miss my insightful comments and to the girls who doubtless miss my handsome countenance. Well, not really, but I am sorry to James for being a slack cunt. Things like having a bird, no internet, no money and university stood in my way. But fear not, I’m in a lecture now bored stiff and now’s the time for posts!
I went to Iepersfest this year, and amongst the highlights of the festival - spending 4 nights with no sleeping bag in a car, being soaking wet, being surrounded by anger euro-hardcores, was an absolutely mind blowing set from Bloodclot. For those who don’t know, this is John Joseph from the legendary Cro Mags new outfit, having previously toured with some Bad Brains members as FVK a few years ago.
To see John Joseph playing Cro Mags songs is something I genuinely thought I’d never see. The fact that the rest of the band includes members of Biohazard and Merauder means you’re basically witnessing proper New York Hardcore except that it’s 2008. They even covered a Bad Brains song too! I don’t think I’ve ever moshed or stage dived with so much conviction. They were mind blowingly eye gogglingly pant wettingly amazing. The video at the top is Bloodclot doing is Hard Times which will either mean nothing to you or will make you mighty jealous! The one below is another amazing New York band, H2O, covering Hard Times to pay their homage!
Check their myspace out here because they’re worth a listen.
