After a seemingly infinite absence, one of Midwest America's most influential bands, Dillinger Four, have delivered their long-awaited fourth proper full-length. The release of 'Civil War' marks the end of an agonizing six year span that fans have endured since the last Dillinger Four studio album, and allays the speculations and rumours that have been bubbling just below the surface of the music scene for the past few years.
No longer a merely tantalizing enticement ruminated over endlessly on message boards, 'Civil War' is finally here and worth every second of the interminable wait.
So here I am again, listening to yet another release from the Triple Darkness collective. This time it's Melanin9's LP, "144,000" and for those of you who heard the "Paintbrush" single, you'll know what to expect: gritty street commentaries over some truly ominous beats, spliced with some dope jazz loops courtesy of Jon Phonics.
Lyrically and sonically this is definitely on a par with the "Anathema" album which Triple Darkness released as a group earlier in the year. Cyrus Malachi and Nasheron are on hand again to lend their skills to the cause and so you could be forgiven for thinking this is Triple Darkness' sophomore project. But we are told this is a solo affair and to be fair, M9ine really does shine throughout. Although I'm not sure if 'shine' is the right word to use, given the darkness of the whole album.

As you've probably heard by now, UK favourites Foreign Beggars are back and they've returned fully mob handed with a single to put the rest of 2008's offerings in the shizzade, yo!
This time it's a cross-channel affair with the help of France's finest, Rouge A Levres, as well as a whole heap of remixes, refixes and rehashes to whet the palette of all the grime-electro-dubstep heads on both sides of the pond.
The running theme here is filth, PURE filth - from the title of the track to Orifice Vulgatron's opening verse, all the way to the hook - dance floors are going to be turned into one big grinding mess when this tune hits the decks.
New Skate and BMX shop located in Bedford . Not exactly central LDN I know but when a new store opens up in your hometown and there has never been anything there before you kinda wanna shout about it.
Oh Shit! Foreign Beggars are back with a vengeance with a cheeky track about poon tang on some French-dirty-house-rap-shit tip. 'Hit That Gash', the first single of their forthcoming album 'United Colours of Beggattron', is a collaboration with French super-group Rouge A levres, comprised of Deephop Panel Lynchpin Grems aka SuperMicro, Disiz La Peste and Le 4romain. Fusing their styles and sound, Foreign Beggars' Orifice Vulgatron lets you know what's really on his mind once he's had a shower and donned his new garms.
