I just clocked this as well, and it definitely warrants a post.
Given most of the people involved in this site met at or have lots of memories associated with Southbank, I thought it was important to draw peoples attention to the Save Southbank campaign.

Back for 2008, Speakers Corner present End Of The Weak UK MC Challenge. This year we begin as EOW Champions thanks to Stig of the Dump taking the title for the UK at the end of 2007.
Now its all eyes on us. The UK has been the grooming ground for some of the tightest rhyme schemers on the planet. The art form is universal and inspired.
This EOW MC Challenge takes place in the USA, France, Germany, Holland, Spain & Brazil with more nations setting up. This year we defend the world title.
There is no room for introductions on this album, straight into vocals, then smashing into guitars, this record jumps right at you in true punk rock style. The vocals of Dave Hause have a classic graveley sound and work perfectly with the familiar guitars and simple drums, and whilst these aren't the most original, you will find yourself unable to keep still as this album progresses. After interviewing these guys backstage at Brixton Academy only a few months ago and talking through this album, its clear they have achieved what they were aiming for, and in my opinion, they had well & truely seen it through until the final days of recording.
Now this is some good shit. When I discover things like this, it reminds me why the UK is still a strong contender on the hip hop scene.
This is the stuff we should be exporting, not goddamn Sway and Lady Sovereign.
So… Wretch 32… To be honest, when I saw his name I did think the worst. The promo blurb said he’d been on that track by The Streets, 'Prangin’ Out'. I thought it was Pete Doherty who did that, but I could be wrong.
Prior to the e-mail dropping into my Inbox a few days ago, I hadn't heard of Us And Them. I don't really get how that's possible, because with a video this good, people really should be shouting from the rooftops about it - which is what I intend to do here.
Triple Darkness launched the first single from their forthcoming debut album ‘Anathema’ at Herbal on January 4th. Joining them on the night were a number of established and up & coming artists including Black Twang, The IRS, Mr Drastick, DJ Vadim, Mr Thing, Pyrelli and Yungun.
The incomparable punk band Rancid have begun the recording of their new studio album on the Californian coast with long-time friend, producer, Epitaph label president and all-round legend Brett Gurewitz. The Bad Religion guitarist has worked with Rancid on virtually every record in their extensive, accomplished career.

Ok, so he's pretty well known, but when I went to NYC last September my friend Cali introduced me to Tyrone and some other incredibly good dudes. They were gracious enough to let me come along with them whilst they were doing some filming.
I am NOT a hipster idiot. I don't wear spray on jeans, I don't wear wild multi-coloured clothes from Brick Lane and I definitely don't have a hairstyle. I felt it necessary to point this out before beginning to review the Kona Paddywagon 2008, as I didn't want anyone jumping to conclusions. Essentially, I didn't buy a fixed wheel as a fashion accessory like a miniature dog or a cool piece of electronic gadgetry. It was a way of getting from A to B quickly and for free, and they're also a gaffle to ride as well, provided you don't mind getting your shins cut to fuck at the beginning anyway.
Mutiny have thrown out some more product info on their 2008 range, and here it is...
DJ Krush, undoubtedly one of the most important DJs and musicians on the planet, is back in the smoke for a massive gig at the glorious KOKO. His performance heralds his first UK release in years.
