Whilst the typical female is out buying oversized anchor pendants they don’t understand, there are a few girls dripping in real jewels made by Hayley Mei. I discovered these gems whilst lurking upon the internet one fine day. If you’re anything like me you will get quite excited at the sight of some sexy trainers, and when I saw my favourites in necklace form, well, I had to snap that shit up right away.
Melbourne based Australian, Hayley Mei decided that dresses didn’t have to be pink and one can look just as pretty in a pair of Air Max as they can in a blouse, she was suddenly surrounded with artists that drank longnecks/40’s instead of absinthe and painted steel instead of canvas. She looked like one of those rap guys girlfriends.
She met more girls that look like rap guys girlfriends, that hated anchor pendants as much as she did and realised she was onto something. She formed a bikie gang of notable homegirls, the Mayorettes, and is slowly taking over the world, one Nikehead at a time.
The quality of these pendants kick the crap outta your standard highstreet rubbish, and are available in a bunch of different original designs and chain lengths. Most of the designs are carved from mirrored perspects into knuckledusters, spraycans, nikes.. all sorts. I’ve been so aware of amazing art & music coming out of Australia recently & Hayley Mei is one fine example of the creative soul this generation has to offer.
