Buying new parts for your bike is one of life’s little pleasures, but in today’s BMX world where there are hundreds of parts to choose from it can be hard choosing the right one for you. Style43 have recognised that problem, and so with our new Product Spotlight feature we hope to shed some light (get it?) on what’s hot and what’s not.

A quick look at most BMXs you’ll see out on the streets or in your local park will probably share one thing in common - their seat, or lack of. Gone are the days when seats rivalling your sitting room armchair in size were the norm, now it’s all about stripped down, basic seats.
Slim seats became popular several years ago, with notable seats from TheShadowConspiracy and Fit leading the way, but with the advent of the Lotek Mixtape and the sight of Eddie Cleveland and Ian Schwartz’s bikes, the stripped down, minimalist style took off.
Recognising riders preferences for the most stripped down seat possible whilst retaining a degree of comfort, WeThePeople have developed their new seat that features on both their completes and their aftermarket product lists, the Supra Slim.
Keeping the long, narrow profile that’s a good compromise between comfort and keeping the seat out of the way, WTP slimmed down the padding from their older slim seats leaving a thin layer behind. Strangely though, to sit on, it actually feels surprisingly comfortable. It’s obviously not going to be quite the same as one of the early Snafu Jump seats, or the O.G. Haro Mirra seats, but for to-ing and fro-ing from spot to spot, it’ll be more than enough.
The sturdy plastic base, supported by 8mm Cromo rails, should mean that the seat stays in shape and intact after a few crashes, and the tough seat cover should also be able to take a few bangs and scrapes without ripping apart. The plastic bumpers on the underside of the seat also protect the vulnerable nose and corners, again adding longevity to the seat.
Rating: 9/10
This seat does exactly what you’d want it to. It’s small enough to be out of the way, but comfortable enough to sit on riding around. Ideal!
