ABERDEEN’S NEW SKATE PARK

As though haggis, cabers and a monster wasn’t enough, the Scots have once again trumped us southerners with this amazing looking park under construction in Aberdeen.
The street course looks interesting, with the quarter/spine/ledge type combination malarkey which, when finished, should be home to many a line methinks. It’s wooden, always a bonus, and looks set to be a whopper. Aside from the usual skate park features, there is a gnarly looking over vert bowled corner with coping inside a 3 sided bowl (see the pic so it makes sense!), and a mammoth kidney shaped bowl which looks deep enough to dive into.

Not sure about prices, but it is in a warehouse which is more important really! This park could have so much potential, let’s hope that it turns out to be like Corby where the riders have a positive input and they have specific sessions for sepcific people, meaning that I don’t tank into a 9 year old on a micro scooter, as opposed to some covered space for slack parents to drop off their nippers for a day and who are then surprised when their kid gets hit by someone and who end up using the words ”I could sue!” a lot.
