M9INE “STRANGE FRUIT” REVIEW
Posted by Jen on 22.08.2008, 16:19
When I first heard the Triple Darkness collective I was sure that it was going to be the start of a very lucrative time for UK hip hop, but I didn’t realise just how prolific these cats were going to be. First we had “Anathema“ the single, which was followed closely by the LP, then they turned up to support Redman and Method Man AND Immortal Technique at their London shows, as well as regularly rocking the mic at Speakers Corner/End of the Weak. And now we move on to their individual efforts.

Federal Bikes - Jared Washington Edit from Federal BMX on Vimeo.
Personally , I don’t know what on earth Bob Scerbo was thinking when he edited this video and decided to add that song to accompany the footage. But none the less the riding is still awesome . ( You can always watch the video in mute , and leave your iTunes on

H20/TRUE VALIANCE/STRENGTH APPROACH, LIVE REVIEW!
Posted by Jen on 16.08.2008, 15:40
Arriving at The Croft in Bristol, I witnessed the might of True Valiance, a local band who have recently signed to the exclusive and notorious Rucktion Records. The room was packed as the first support band took to the stage. You could clearly see the anticipation on every kids face down at the front.
They started with an intro track that had enough energy and build up in it to make me want to start moshing along with every kid down the front. The intro smoothly merged into the song “Take Your Life Back” and it got even crazier. There was a real intense feeling of motivation coming from the crowd, these guys are shit hot and everybody knows it.
DEAL WITH IT END TIME PROPHECIES.
Posted by Henry on 16.08.2008, 02:01
Girlfriends can fuck off. They make you miserable and make you worry about things and you end up letting your mates down. To help me sort out my heart based problems, I’ve been listening to the new Deal With It record, End Time Prophecies. Trust me, you can definitely judge a book by its cover when the legendary Edward Repka is the artist.
DMC DJ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, LONDON 26TH/27TH JULY!
Posted by Jen on 15.08.2008, 20:07The DMC World DJ Championships 2008 are being held on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September at Indig02 in London. International heats are taking place now, across the globe, and if the UK competition was anything to go by, once again standards have been ramped up a notch this year.
This year’s UK heats are done and dusted; the finalists travelled to Islington Academy on 17th July for the DMC UK DJ Championships and after a hard fought competition, DJ Skully was crowned the winner. Placing first in the competition means Skully is now set to represent UK turntables in the solo DJ category and will compete against the cream of the global DJ crop at this years competition.
BLACK EYE KILLORADO
Posted by Jay on 15.08.2008, 11:55So the Black Eye Killorado Frame is now available in the US from Dans by clicking here. In my opinion this has to be one of the worst BMX frames I’ve ever seen but none the less Cory Jarman does shred on that frame even if it is of scooter proportions. See the frame in action in this Season Web Video below and voice your opinion.
CHASE HAWK WEBVID
Posted by Jay on 13.08.2008, 22:26TATE ROSKELLEY: THAT’S IT
Posted by Mark on 11.08.2008, 12:52The 50:50 video, That’s It, has been one my favourite BMX videos since it came out. Combining a wide range of riding styles with some amazing editing generally leads you to an awesome vid, but this one even had an amazing vibe and atmosphere to it as well. Anyway, one of the stand-out parts came from a relatively unknown dude (Unless you saw his old Shook part), Tate Roskelley. Defgrip have just put his part online so either click here to watch it on their site, or right-click here to download it straight to your computer. Do it!
I should probably also point out that That’s It is still available from all good retailers, blah blah blah. It’s well worth buying - Cameron Wood and Mike Aitken have so many bangers it’s unreal, Dave Thompson is as amazing as he was in Like Totally, and Matt Beringer is Matt Beringer - ’nuff said.
